The short answer: Tall women need jeans with a longer inseam, not just a bigger size, because sizing up only makes the waist bigger. Measure from crotch to heel (crotch to ankle bone for skinny jeans) and choose a Tall length that matches. At FITJEANS, Tall is our longest inseam: up to 95 cm (37.4") in Flared, 93 cm (36.6") in Baggy and 88 cm (34.7") in Contour, and our 360 jeans add 15–20% stretch in length.
If you're tall, you know the drill. Jeans that look full-length on the model stop a few centimetres above your ankle. Flares that should sweep the floor end up looking like culottes. And if you size up to get more length, you get a waist gap as a bonus.
Here's how to find jeans that are long enough and still hug your waist.
Why are regular jeans too short for tall women?
Regular lengths are drafted around an average leg. When your legs are longer than that, every proportion shifts: the knee sits too high, the flare starts in the wrong place and the hem stops short. Going up a size doesn't fix it, because most brands only add a little length between sizes. What you really need is a longer inseam in your normal waist size.
How do I measure my inseam if I'm tall?
- Stand barefoot, feet slightly apart, back straight.
-
Measure from the crotch down the inside of your leg.
- For flared and baggy jeans, go all the way to your heel. These styles are meant to cover the top of your shoe.
- For skinny jeans, measure to your ankle bone. - Compare with the Tall column on the size guide for the exact style.
Pro tip: think about your shoes. If you love heels or platforms with flares, you'll want the longest inseam you can get.
Which FITJEANS styles come in Tall?
Tall lengths are available on our high waisted Flared, Baggy, Contour and Pastel Flared styles in selected colours. Look for the length option on the product page. A few colours don't come in Tall, so always check before you fall in love.
| Size | Flared Tall (crotch to heel) | Flared Regular | Baggy Tall (crotch to heel) | Baggy Regular | Contour Tall (crotch to ankle) | Contour Regular |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| XXS | 90 cm / 35.4" | 81 cm / 31.9" | 88 cm / 34.6" | 78 cm / 30.7" | 83 cm / 32.7" | 70 cm / 27.5" |
| XS | 91 cm / 35.8" | 82 cm / 32.3" | 89 cm / 35" | 79 cm / 31.1" | 84 cm / 33.1" | 71 cm / 28" |
| S | 92 cm / 36.2" | 83 cm / 32.7" | 90 cm / 35.4" | 80 cm / 31.5" | 85 cm / 33.5" | 72 cm / 28.3" |
| M | 93 cm / 36.6" | 84 cm / 33" | 91 cm / 35.8" | 81 cm / 31.9" | 86 cm / 33.9" | 73 cm / 28.7" |
| L | 94 cm / 37" | 85 cm / 33.5" | 92 cm / 36.2" | 82 cm / 32.3" | 87 cm / 34.3" | 74 cm / 29.1" |
| XL | 95 cm / 37.4" | 86 cm / 33.9" | 93 cm / 36.6" | 83 cm / 32.7" | 88 cm / 34.7" | 75 cm / 29.5" |
That's roughly 9 cm more than Regular in Flared, 10 cm more in Baggy and 13 cm more in Contour.
What about 360 jeans for tall women?
Our 360 jeans are our stretchiest, and they stretch 15–20% in length. That's why we often recommend them to tall ladies and anyone with longer legs. When you read the 360 size guide, add that extra stretch to the inseam to get a better idea of where they'll land on you.
Which jeans styles look best on tall women?
Long legs can carry almost any shape. A few favourites:
- Tall flared jeans: the dream combo. A full-length flare with a heel is about as leggy as denim gets. Make sure the hem covers most of your shoe; that's how flares are meant to be worn.
- Tall baggy jeans: baggy needs length to drape properly. In Tall, our Baggy falls in a clean line to the floor instead of hovering above your ankle. It's snug at the waist and relaxed through the leg.
- Contour or 360 skinny: sleek from waist to ankle. Tall Contour gives you a clean ankle line, and 360 gives you extra length through the stretch.
- Low waisted flares: these come in one length, with a crotch-to-heel length of 83–88 cm (32.6–34.6"). Compare that with your inseam first.
How do I choose my size if I'm tall?
Size by your waist, the same as everyone else. Tall is about length, not width.
- Measure the narrowest part of your waist (usually near the belly button).
- Find it on the style's chart. For Flared and Contour, M is a 70–75 cm (27.5–29.5") waist and L is 75–80 cm (29.5–31.5"). Baggy runs one step up, so M there is 75–80 cm.
- Skip the hip measurement for high and mid waisted styles. The denim stretches from the waist down, and the waistband is designed to be a little snug so it stays put.
- Between sizes? Size up in black (stiffer fabric), size down in the lightest washes; Pastel differs — check the size guide or ask help@fitjeans.com.
For low waisted styles (Flared Low, Bare, Raw Waist and Baggy Low Waisted), use your hip measurement where the jeans will sit instead.
What if even Tall is too short?
Tall is the longest inseam we make, so if your crotch-to-heel measurement is longer than the Tall column, try these:
- Choose 360, where the length stretch adds extra centimetres.
- Wear flares and baggy jeans with flat shoes, so the hem still reaches the floor.
- Lean into cropped looks on purpose, like Capri jeans, that are meant to show your ankles.

FAQ
Does FITJEANS have tall jeans?
Yes. Tall lengths are available on selected colours of our Flared, Baggy, Contour and Pastel Flared styles. Choose Tall in the length option on the product page.
What is the longest inseam at FITJEANS?
Tall is our longest length. Flared Tall goes up to 95 cm (37.4") crotch to heel in size XL, and the inseam grows slightly with each size.
Should tall women size up in jeans?
No. Sizing up makes the waist bigger and causes a waist gap. Keep your waist size and choose a Tall length instead.
Which FITJEANS jeans are best for long legs?
Tall Flared and Tall Baggy give the most length, and our 360 jeans stretch 15–20% in length, which is why we recommend them for longer legs.
How should flared jeans fit on tall women?
They should hug your waist, hips and thighs, then open from the knee, with the hem covering most of your shoe.
Do all colours come in Tall?
Not all of them. Some colours are only made in Regular, so check the length options on each product page.
